Continental and Aspen Country Clubs are the two major country clubs in this area and are the reason this area is casually referred to as “The Country Club” area of Flagstaff. Located south of Interstate 40 and accessible from two major exits (Butler Ave. and Country Club Dr.), this area is ideal for quick and easy access to most of Flagstaff. These are the ideal neighborhoods for homeowners who love to golf and popular with home buyers who desire a second home in the Flagstaff area.
- Continental Country Club (includes Coconino Country Club)
Amberwood and Lakeside Acres are south of the Continental Country Club neighborhood. Lakeside Acres gets its name from being adjacent to Lake Elaine. Homes in this neighborhood are large with beautiful lakeside and mountain peak views. Amberwood has newer homes and both neighborhoods are adjacent to many hiking and biking trails to the south and east, including the Arizona Trail and trails that lead to Walnut Canyon and Fisher Point.
These areas are south of Little America Hotel off Butler Ave. and are rural in nature with acreage and mostly forested land. The Flagstaff master-plan shows an extension of Fourth St. going south through this area and connecting with J. W. Powell Blvd. near Pine Canyon.
The Walnut Canyon area is east of Country Club Drive and south of Interstate 40. This is a neighborhood of varied types of homes such as condos, townhomes, duplexes, medium and large homes. Duck Lakes provide a nice setting for many of the homes here and the hiking/biking trails are just adjacent to almost all neighborhoods in this area.
